摘要

It is essential to support sustainable knowledge by providing access to digital collections and promoting infrastructures that ensure their continuity. The study aims to describe the digital preservation policies and principles adopted by libraries, considering these institutions’ involvement in the open science movement and their role in safeguarding valuable digital information for future generations. The article begins with a synthesis of open science and digital preservation, highlighting the need for some libraries to update and enhance their digital preservation approaches. As a secondary objective, differences in the approach to the topic within open access publications are analyzed. To achieve this, a content analysis based on abstracts from the Scopus database was conducted using the IRAMUTEQ software. It was found that the political element emerges as a necessity in collection preservation, and that addressing the topic requires deep reflections on the challenges to be overcome, which encompass digitization projects and initiatives under various methods.
