摘要

This paper explores the utilization of Intellectual Capital (IC) within Argentine technology-based SMEs, delineating distinct profiles based on their IC management practices and examining their impact on innovation performance. By enriching the knowledge-based view of firms in emerging markets, this analysis extends our understanding of the most effective IC configurations to innovation. Through a survey of 233 Argentine technology-based SMEs and subsequent cluster analysis, distinct profiles concerning IC practices were identified. The findings reveal diverse IC configurations in the emerging economy of Argentina, indicating that specific IC profiles can lead to varying levels of innovation performance. The value of this research is highlighted by the limited number of existing studies examining the relationship between Intellectual Capital (IC) and innovation in SMEs from emerging economies, positioning this work as a groundbreaking exploration in the Argentine context. This investigation increases the understanding on IC management and innovation performance, providing deep insights that contribute significantly to scholarly debates and managerial practices.
