This chapter delves into the theoretical underpinnings of neuromorphic computing, tracing its development from conceptual foundations to advanced implementations. It highlights the evolution from traditional computing architectures to systems that emulate the brain’s neural architecture and processing style. Significant attention is given to spiking neural networks (SNNs) and resistive memory technologies such as memristors, which are critical in mimicking the brain’s synaptic mechanisms.
