Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition among older adults, greatly affecting their daily lives. This study explores the diverse impacts of AMD on adults and older people quality of life, focusing on technology perception and using agent-based modeling for analysis. The findings reveal that AMD significantly hinders learning, mobility, self-care, and household tasks, while surprisingly, communication and relationships remain less affected. These results emphasize the need to consider these variations when assessing how technology can enhance the quality of life for AMD patients. Additionally, the study suggests expanding the evaluation to include sociodemographic factors like residential environment and gender, allowing for a more comprehensive understanding and tailored technological solutions. In conclusion, this research underscores AMD substantial impact on adults and older persons’ daily lives and advocates for agent-based Models’ use to gain insights into complex health conditions. It offers valuable comprehension for healthcare professionals and technology developers striving to enhance the well-being of AMD patients.
