Developing a Decentralized Blockchain Framework with Hyperledger and NFTs for Secure and Transparent Patient Health Records
摘要
Maintaining patient health information presents several difficulties for healthcare organizations, including issues with ownership, security, utility, and accessibility. Traditional electronic health record systems sometimes need help with interoperability problems, scalability constraints, and security breach risks despite being widely used. The proposed approach develops a transparent and safe patient health record management framework by leveraging a decentralized blockchain architecture, particularly with Hyperledger and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The distributed, immutable, and secure ledger of the blockchain minimizes the scalability issues such as resource constraints, data inconsistency, and single point of failure related to centralized storage solutions while guaranteeing effective system access and retrieval. One of its primary features is the proposed system's capacity to link different healthcare stakeholders through a permission-based process. Medical professionals can have temporary access from patients enabled by NFTs, allowing for smooth communication and patient control over their health information. NFTs allow for the tracking of all related activities, the ownership of patient records to be verified, and effective accessibility, security, and transparency to be ensured. This paper primarily concerns the application interface for the Hyperledger Fabric network prototype's deployment in the healthcare industry. This interface provides an easy-to-use and intuitive means of facilitating engagement with the proposed system. The research offers insightful information to healthcare practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers, adding to the growing knowledge about blockchain-based healthcare systems. This study's decentralized method could transform patient record administration by solving major issues with ownership, security, and accessibility in the healthcare sector.
