摘要

There are many reasons why it is important for organisational leaders to measure, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of their collective employment relations strategy such as the cost of conflict, damage inflicted on brands and the management of risk. There is also increased external scrutiny on organisations to demonstrate positive employment practices, seen by how organisations treat their people. However, collective employment relations is not regularly assessed in organisations, despite the benefits of doing so. Gathering robust data on the effectiveness of the employment relations strategy and activity can inform a continuous improvement approach, thereby reducing the likelihood of conflict as well as providing assurance on workplace culture to investors, potential investors, and current and potential employees. This chapter discusses why organisations should measure and evaluate, provides examples of a range of practical tools, discusses problems with measurement and reporting while also providing examples of good practice.
