Genetic Engineering and Genome Editing of Probiotic Microbes
摘要
Therapeutics based on microorganisms show a roadmap for next-generation live diagnostics and biomedicine. The purpose of genetic advancement of microorganisms is to boost their inherent capabilities and enhance protective, antimicrobial, and commercial applications. Genome engineering and gene editing systems are also used to understand molecular mechanisms of physiological properties and interaction with host and the resident symbionts. Genetic modification promotes the robustness of the bioengineered probiotics, also regarded as next-generation live therapeutics.
