Non-lactic Acid Bacteria and Other Novel Probiotics
摘要
Extensive awakening in the interest of nutritionists and health experts in microorganisms with pro-health attributes and protection against infectious and non-infectious diseases has furthered the interest in diverse probiotic microorganisms. Expanding knowledge of health benefits of microorganisms has enthused interest in microbiological niches to discover novel microorganisms for health and biotechnological (probiotics) applications. Optimal dose and safety should be the most prioritized concern of newly revealed futuristic non-lactic acid bacteria (LAB) probiotics such as Akkermansia muciniphila, Bacillus spp., Faecalibacterium praunitzii and Roseburea spp., and yeasts (such as Saccharomyces boulardii).
