Recommendations Toward Gender Diversity in Engineering

The impact of engineering projects is felt across society; thus, the teams working on the said projects must be reflective of the diverse society they are a part of. Gender diversity in engineering teams can better help create innovative solutions. The previous chapters of this book each looked at an aspect of an engineer’s career, with the aim of identifying the factors that may be contributing to the difference in the number of women and men practicing engineering in Canada. The purpose of this chapter is to provide suggestions and recommendations for engineering universities and employers working toward an equitable, inclusive, and diverse profession.
