RosaceaRosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition of unknown etiology. Four distinct subtypes have been classified with type IV being ocular rosaceaRosacea. Ocular rosaceaRosacea is a chronic, inflammatory condition that may occur even in the absence of skin changes. It is characterized by bilateral blepharitisBlepharitis and meibomitis, which may subsequently alter the entire ocular surfaceOcular surface including the corneaCornea. Corneal involvement has been reported in up to 50% of rosaceaRosacea patients and ranges from punctate epithelial keratopathy to corneal neovascularizationCorneal neovascularization, infiltrates, epithelial ulceration and even perforationPerforation.
