Importance of Diabetes and Skin-Related Conditions in Health Care: Social and Economic Impact

Skin diseases are associated with considerable socio-economic burden. These result both from the frequency of skin diseases and from the individual burden of disease. Skin diseases associated with diabetes have both the disease burden of the skin disease and the additional burden of diabetes. The following chapter systematically deals with the epidemiological and health economic aspects of skin diseases associated with diabetes.
