Thyroid Pathology
摘要
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) can be used on both benign and malignant thyroid nodules. While commonly used for well-differentiated thyroid carcinomas, the applications can be expanded to include other malignancies in high-risk surgical candidates or inoperable candidates. RFA can also be applied in recurrent disease. To understand what options are appropriate, a definitive pathologic diagnosis must be established. Our goal is to introduce surgical pathology, pathologic thyroid tumor classification, histologic diagnostic criteria, and clinical course.
