Wanda Monaco
摘要
I reach Wanda Monaco by phone in Stockholm, where she lives with her Swedish mathematician husband and where she carries on an interesting activity as an avant-garde director, actress and writer which also led her to work alongside Ingmar Bergman and his great actors, including Erland Josephson. She left Naples more than 40 years ago, but the account of her meeting with Renato Caccioppoli when she was just 18 is so vivid that it opens up unexpected glimpses of him and the last period of his life. The meeting with the Neapolitan mathematician—she confesses to me—was fundamental to her existence.
