Demanding Task—Putting Theory into Practice

How Dewey’s educational philosophy was put into school practice is shown by means of characteristic features. In particular, coeducation, individualized instruction, and the famous clubhouse project are discussed, as well as the promotion of team spirit and discipline, the implementation of drill and grading, and, last but not least, the imperfect conduct of scientific research.
