Teachers and Students—Structural Frictions

  • Michael Knoll

摘要

What distinguished the Laboratory School from the contemporary public schools was the large number of teachers, their high level of training, the small learning groups, the elitist selection of students, and the high fluctuation that prevailed among both the faculty and the student body. It is also noticeable that there were disagreements within the teaching staff and between teachers and school management about how Dewey’s pedagogical concept should be implemented.
