Afterlife—The School’s Impact and Dewey’s Influence

There are two answers to the question of what effect the school had. While some argue that Dewey’s concepts of critical thinking, inquiry, and problem solving are too sophisticated to be effectively implemented in the public school system, the opposing side argues that Dewey’s general guidelines for enlivening instruction and activating students found their way even into schools and classrooms that did not necessarily consider themselves progressive and outstanding.
