The Problematic Internet Use and Its Impact on Young People’s Online Moral Disengagement
摘要
This chapter examines the problematic use of the internet and its impact on young people’s online moral disengagement. With the widespread availability and accessibility of online platforms, young individuals are increasingly exposed to various online activities that can potentially undermine their moral judgment and ethical behavior. This research investigates the relationship between excessive internet usage, including addictive behaviors, and the tendency of young people to disengage morally when interacting online. This study sheds light on how the Internet influences moral disengagement among young individuals through a comprehensive literature review and empirical analysis. The findings contribute to our understanding of the negative consequences associated with the problematic use of the internet and provide valuable insights for parents, educators, and policymakers to mitigate the impact on young people’s moral development.
