Fractureability Level of Five Composite Resins. In Vitro Study

The last thirty years have seen a considerable evolution in dental materials. It is easier to evaluate the qualities stated by each manufacturer when one is aware of the latest developments in dental materials and their mechanical properties. Hardness is a mechanical property that contributes to teeth’s good function. This study used a quasi-experimental quantitative approach to compare the fractureability levels of 3M Z100, 3M Valux Plus, Te-Econom Plus®, Llis, and Z250 resins. An in vitro study was developed, and 20 composite resin blocks measuring 9 mm in length, 4 mm in width, and 2 mm in height were used. These blocks were divided into 4 groups of 5 types of composites, designated R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5, respectively, and were subjected to a specific force using an Instron 3400 series tensile, compression, and flexural testing system. The findings indicated that the resins with the lowest fractureability levels were Te-Econom Plus® (1080.26N), Llis. (1122.31N), and 3M Valux Plus resins (3M Z250 and 3M Z100), which had the highest levels. It has been determined that 3M Z250 is the resin with the highest fractureability and compression hardness. For this reason, the dentist can use it to fill dental components and provide their patients with high-quality care.
