The massive change in the world urges the need for countries and corporations to be involved in green innovation and develop a green economic system. The external force may have distinct impacts on the green innovation activities of corporations. This research assesses the influence of various types of pressures on corporate green innovation and examines the moderating roles of top management's environmental awareness. A China-based MNC was chosen to study in this research because of its strong innovative power and commitment to environmentally friendly solutions. The quantitative research method was applied, and the PLS-SEM approach was utilised for data analysis. The results found that policy pressure is the most important predictor of corporate green innovation in China, followed by competitor pressure. Top management’s environmental awareness only moderates the relationship between competitive pressure and corporate green innovation. This research is important as China is an important force in the global marketplace and has an immense impact on environmental sustainability. This research can enlighten policymakers about the effectiveness of promoting green innovation.
