摘要

Smart farming techniques offer significant benefits, such as reduced water and energy usage, decreased reliance on pesticides and fertilizers, and enhanced efficiency through automation and data-driven processes. The system continues to evolve from conventional methods to the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture which aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 for clean and sustainable energy, and SDG 8 for resource efficiency and economic growth. However, the increased use of machinery may lead to unemployment concerns (SDG 9), emphasizing the need for a balanced approach. Bridging the education gap (SDG 4) is crucial for successful implementation, promoting inclusivity in technology and education. Smart farming contributes to a resource-efficient and sustainable agriculture system, addressing broader SDGs related to hunger, poverty, health, and the environment. Precision application of pesticides and fertilizers, guided by smart farming, supports SDG 3 by reducing environmental impact. Despite these advantages, careful management is necessary to address societal challenges and ensure widespread accessibility.
