Employing Multimedia in News Websites’ Coverage of Current Events: Comparative Analytical Study

The aim of the study was to investigate the degree of multimedia utilization on websites and the types of multimedia used in covering current events. Additionally, the study sought to understand the nature of these multimedia elements. The study falls under the category of descriptive research, employing content analysis as the method on a sample of websites using random sampling. The chosen websites were Al Arabiya as a representative of Arabic news channels' websites, and Sky News Arabia as a representative of foreign news channels targeting Arabic speakers.
