摘要

In the unfortunate event of financial mismanagement leading to debt or bankruptcy, individuals may find themselves in dire situations. Building upon prior research, this study employs the Theory of Monetary Intelligence (TMI) to explore how financial literacy and financial behaviour influence money management among early childhood educators in Sabah. Financial literacy and financial behaviour, treated as exogenous variables, were examined for their impact on money management, an endogenous variable. The study engaged 108 teachers voluntarily, managing data initially with SPSS version 25 and testing hypotheses using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings reveal that significant financial literacy and financial behaviour impact money management. Intriguingly, upon deeper investigation, financial behaviour emerges as having a more substantial influence on money management than financial literacy. Therefore, future research should adopt a qualitative approach and extend the study to include other states or the national level for a more comprehensive understanding of this issue.
