Exploring Work Life Balance in the Relationship Between Flexible Working Arrangements and Employee Performance at SABIC
摘要
The discontinuation of flexible working arrangements at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) after COVID-19 pandemic created a need to explore its consequences. This research, therefore, investigates the impact of flexible work arrangements on employee performance via work-life balance within the context of SABIC. Using a quantitative approach the study found a statistically significant positive effect of flexible working arrangements (FWA) on employee performance. Additionally, FWA demonstrates a significant positive effect on work-life balance. However, the study does not establish a statistically significant impact of work-life balance on employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of FWA in enhancing employee performance and prompt further exploration of the nuanced relationship with work-life balance. The study adds to the existing literature by providing a new tested model and sheds light on existing models that measure work-life balance as an indicator of FWA.
