Application of Advanced Information Technologies in Medicine Using R. Voll’s Electropuncture Diagnosis and Therapy

Data on scientific justification and practical application of information technologies in medicine are presented in this work. The authors characterize various medical expert systems (interpretation, diagnosis, prognosis), which underlie the approaches to creation of such systems exemplified by functioning of the devices for R. Voll’s electropuncture diagnosis and therapy (VEPDT). The following information processes are described in detail: during a thorough medical check of a patient, when assessing the nature and degree of disorders in patient’s organs and systems, in determining the mechanisms of disease pathogenesis in individual patient as well as in specifying the contact burden and conducting external shock, medicamentous and homeopathic therapy [1]. A universal VEPDT device is developed and equipped with additional capabilities not available in the known devices of this class (testing and calibration by the results, control of external shock therapy frequency). Successful clinical case of using this device is presented (VEPDT Device).
