Introduction to the Handbook
摘要
This handbook is an edited volume that discusses mental health issues, challenges, research, and practices undertaken across several Sub-Saharan African countries as described by African mental health practitioners. The handbook is divided into four sections. The first section includes five chapters that introduce the handbook and the general issues and concepts discussed within it. The second section includes ten chapters that describe varied mental health topics, community outreach and mental health interventions. The third section includes four chapters focusing on systemic issues such as professional training, the use of technology in mental health services, and mental health policy. A final chapter provides concluding commentary on the core concepts and issues raised within the handbook and provides recommendations for next steps in practice, policy, and research.
