摘要

This research aimed to investigate the level of preferences, knowledge and awareness of organic products and the purchasing and consumption styles of organic and local fruit and vegetables making a cross-countries comparison. At this purpose, a survey was conducted considering three different European countries (Italy, France and Germany) and a target of only women, living in medium-large urban centers, with medium–high income and cultural level. Results show that the country of origin of consumers and certain socio-demographic characteristics define different evaluation profiles and orientations of local and organic F&V choice and consumption. For example, Italian consumers value local origin more than organic certification, in contrast to French and German consumers. In addition, age was found to be the most influential factor in consumers’ assessment of the product under analysis.
