摘要

In early 2020, employers and organisations faced a dramatic and drastic change in organisational practices and management, as the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, having unforeseen implications for the resilienceresilience of governments, policy makers, healthcare systems and employers. The pandemic resulted in a significant and rapid shift in how and where work is done, but also shone a light on the capacity of line managers to do their jobs ‘well’, especially as many of their staff started to work from home or remotely. The workplace is still in a phase of re-adjustment, as employers navigate the post-pandemic landscape. However, if hybrid working is going to be a major feature in working practices over the next decade, it is important to gather the learnings about the way line managers navigated this transition, and can continue to co-ordinate, communicate, and support staff who are working in non-traditional ways going forward.
