Vaporisers

Anaesthetic vaporisers are devices designed to saturate inhaled gases with volatile anaesthetic agents. Initially designed simply, using the principles of evaporation and vapour pressure, these devices have increased in technological sophistication, accuracy, and precision. Knowledge of the basic science underpinning these devices allows for understanding of the vaporiser and the kinetics of volatile anaesthetic agents.
