Electromagnetic Principles

Medical devices, to a large degree, rely on repeated variations of similar electromagnetic principles for their function. For example, many transducers used in monitoring change the physiological variable into an altered electrical resistance which can then be detected using a Wheatstone bridge. The modulation and control of electromagnetic systems also underpin relays, many switch elements or current modulation for electrically based monitoring, stimulation and defibrillation.
