Compliance

Measurement of true lung compliance is rarely performed, but estimations of compliance and discussion of this value are a common occurrence in all areas of anaesthesia and intensive care. An understanding of the measurement but also the limitations of interpretation is important for a safe passage through the exam and in clinical practice.
