Respiratory: Pressure-Volume Loops
摘要
An understanding of the contributions to the work of breathing is essential for safe clinical practice and success in the primary exams. A combination of elastic recoil, resistive forces and role of functional residual capacity contribute to effective lung function. Energy is required to breathe, and this stored energy is released during the normal passive expiration phase; the concepts of energy and power are discussed alongside the information that is gained from PV loops.
