Investigating Organizational Allyship: Evidence from Jurisprudence
摘要
This chapter explores the role of allyship in promoting non-discrimination within the workplace, drawing on British legal cases under the Equality Act 2010. It highlights the significant impact of allyship in challenging biases, advocating for diverse hiring practices, and providing support to marginalized individuals. The chapter analyzes landmark cases, including Jolly v. Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Cox v. NHS England and Improvement, Macken v. BNP Paribas, and others, to underscore the legal obligations of employers and the transformative potential of allyship in fostering equity and inclusion. It emphasizes that genuine change requires both legal compliance and a shift in organizational culture towards inclusivity. The chapter concludes by advocating for systemic reforms within the Employment Tribunal system to enhance accessibility and ensure fair adjudication of workplace discrimination cases.
