Indigenous Entrepreneurship as a Pathway for Nollywood’s Global Relevance and SDG 8 Intervention

This case study delves into the intricate relationship between indigenous entrepreneurship and the global relevance of Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, with a specific focus on how this partnership aligns with the objectives outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8). Nollywood stands as a vibrant hub of cultural expression, economic growth, and social transformation, exerting a significant influence on both local and global scales. Indigenous entrepreneurship within Nollywood serves as a catalyst for economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and social inclusion, offering pathways for sustainable development and the realization of SDG 8 goals. Through an exploration of indigenous entrepreneurship initiatives, practices, challenges, and achievements within Nollywood, this case study seeks to uncover the mechanisms through which indigenous entrepreneurship contributes to Nollywood’s global relevance and fosters progress toward SDG 8 objectives. By examining real-life examples, insights, and experiences of indigenous entrepreneurs in Nollywood, this study aims to shed light on the transformative power of entrepreneurship in driving inclusive economic growth, promoting social equity, and advancing sustainable development agendas within the context of the global film industry.
