摘要

This chapter evidences indigenous entrepreneurship in South Africa. The aim is to ascertain how a generic enterprise Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) strategy fosters indigenous entrepreneurship and enhances employee satisfaction. This study explores the indigenous people means of management and entrepreneurship. The two research objectives are, namely, to determine how a generic enterprise B-BBEE strategy promotes indigenous entrepreneurship; to identify the factors of employee satisfaction that boost indigenous entrepreneurship. The methodology is categorised as quantitative research, which was conducted in a chemical generic enterprise located in Durban, South Africa. A quantitative research method, the questionnaire, was used to collect primary data. The study population consisted of 113 employees and five employers, with a total response rate of 89% of employees and 100% of employers. The findings revealed that the enterprise B-BBEE strategy was aligned to the five scorecard elements of the B-BBEE Act. Further to this alignment, it was identified that the generic enterprise B-BBEE strategy includes B-BBEE initiatives and training opportunities for employees and communities, which contribute to their education and welfare. Recommendations were provided for the enterprise to evaluate the B-BBEE legislation requirement to aid with resourceful strategy development, implementation, and continual improvement.
