Ontology of the Mountains: The Chimburasu and the Social Reproduction of the Puruwa Ethnic Group in the Ecuadorian Andes

This chapter shows how the non-human entity of Mount Chimborazo in the Andes of Ecuador acts as a modeling agent of the life and reproduction of the social being of the Puruwa ethnic group, denoting significant biocultural patterns between these two entities, to legitimize their social being from a series of ontological relationships of a ceremonial, environmental, cognitive, and ethnic nature.
