Earth Ethics and Montology

An interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary field of study, such as found in montology, requires a systemic, holistic approach. Consequently, a systemic, holistic code of ethics is also needed. Earth ethics provides an ecocentric framework for evaluating our interaction with Earth and nature. In this chapter, we will examine various earth ethics perspectives and their implications for social sustainability and resilience while we also consider how moral extensionism might transform the current dominant social paradigm.
