Unwasting a Crisis Away: A Case Study of Anakkayam, a Village in Kerala

Waste used to be an oft-ignored term until quite recently. It was not until the twentieth century and World War II that waste became such an issue. Till then, whatever was leftover became food for animals, toys for children, fertiliser or raw material for other products.
