Innovative Pyrolysis Technologies for Thermochemical Processing of Municipal Solid Waste into Products with Enhanced Values

摘要

The predicted inclusive waste generation globally can increase to 70%, equivalent to 3.40 billion metric tons by 2050. In India, MSW collected accounts for 82% (50 Mt) and litter for 18% (12 Mt), waste treated is only 28% (14 Mt), and the rest, 72% (36 Mt) is openly dumped in the urban areas. It was predicted, that if the current waste generation rate increases, by 2030, the total MSW generation from urban areas will reach up to 165 million, 230 million by 2041, and 436 million by 2050.
