Process designProcess design involves use of severalProcess design fundamentals correlations and equations to carry out estimation of size of process equipment. Fundamental courses namely, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, and reaction kinetics, required for process design are summarized in this chapter from process designer’s point of view. Due to enhanced computational power available now, emphasis is on adopting correlations and algorithms to avoid the use of graphs and nomograms.
