摘要

In the automotive industry, the automation of 2 and 4-wheeler workshops has emerged as a vital transformation aimed at improving operational efficiency and service quality. The pressing need for automation in these workshops is driven by the imperative to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual errors, and meet the rising customer demands for faster and more precise service. The objective of this research is to comprehensively analyse the barriers hindering the successful implementation of automation in these workshops. We have identified 12 key barriers through existing literature. To prioritize these barriers, a Fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) approach has been employed, offering valuable insights for workshop owners and managers. This methodology enables us to assess the interconnections among these barriers, identifying those that are most influential in the context of 2 and 4-wheeler workshop automation. The findings underscore the significance of addressing these key barriers, guiding strategic planning and decision-making processes to enhance cost-effectiveness, workforce development, seamless integration, service quality, and data security. This research paper serves as a pivotal resource for the automotive industry, offering a roadmap for embracing technological advancements while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction. It contributes to the ongoing dialogue surrounding the need for, challenges of, and benefits from the automation of 2 and 4-wheeler workshops.
