Survey on Antennas for Different Cancers and Tumor Detection

Antennas play major role in wide variety of medical applications. Cancers had been a common disease in the recent years, various parts of body are affected by cancer cells in which the most frequent type of cancer in society are breast cancer, lung cancer and skin cancer. In addition, brain cancer and cardiac cancer cells and other tumors can be analyzed using various types of antennas. In this paper, a survey on different antenna types and the patches, slots that are possible on antennas to detect cancer cells in early stage are analyzed. HFSS, CST, VNA network analyzer, MATLAB are various software available for the purpose. Permittivity, antenna gain, bandwidth and radiation pattern and directivity are the performance metrics which decide the antenna suitability.
