摘要

The human liver is considered an important target for many parasites that could be responsible for very serious or even life-threatening diseases. Liver parasites may cause the following: hepatomegaly is mostly caused by Schistosoma mansoni, Leishmania donovani, Trypanosoma, Plasmodium, and Toxoplasma; liver cirrhosis, fibrosis and liver cell failure caused by Schistosoma mansoni, Fasciola, and Capillaria hepatica. Cholangitis, cholecystitis, metabolic disorders, jaundice, cholangiocarcinoma are manifested during infection with Fasciola, Clonorchis sinensis, Opisthorchis, and Capillaria hepatica. Additionally, cystic hepatic lesions with pressure necrotic changes were seen during infection with Echinococcus granulosus (hydatid cysts), Entamoeba histolytica (Amebic liver abscess), and Toxocara.
