The Myth of Dynamic MRI
摘要
Dynamic pituitary MRI is unfortunately systematically obtained in many centers while it is only really helpful in a very limited number of circumstances and consequently must not be performed routinely. Moreover, dynamic MRI is likely to cause misdiagnoses. It is unuseful for the diagnosis of microadenomas and constitutes a loss time. A rare indication is cavernous sinus hemangioma where dynamic imaging could demonstrate a centripetal enhancement of a T2W hyperintense mass of the cavernous sinus. Dynamic MRI must be reserved for research purpose. Recently, a sequence with a reduced acquisition time of a few seconds (GRASP, Golden-Angle Radial Sparse Parallel) has been proposed but its results are not really convincing.
