Intrasellar Rathke Cleft Cyst/Pars Intermedia Cyst

With high-quality MRI and particularly T2W sequence, the incidence of posteriorly located intrasellar cysts is almost as high as in autopsy studies where their presence has been reported in one in three persons. This raises the question of the necessity to mention them in the radiological report: is it a lesion or an anatomical variant (Fig. 23.1)?
