Interesting But Naive
摘要
For millennia, people had practically no chance to understand what an earthquake is, and where it occurs and why. The first acceptable theory on the origin of tectonic earthquakes was published in 1910. Five years after the special theory of relativity. The delay was largely due to the lack of objective quantitative data necessary to understand earthquakes sooner. It is therefore not surprising that people held naive and often bizarre views about earthquakes.
