Methods of Local and Regional Landscape-Ecological Modeling

An algorithm of the quantitative analysis of mono- and poly-system organizations of geospace has been developed and tested on the regional level using a series of empirical models of component interrelations and complex interconnections. For the first time in geoecology, the algorithm combines “micro-” and “macro-substrate” approaches to the structure–function analysis of the natural environment state. The geoecological analysis has been performed using a series of empirical models: (a) informational, serving as a basis for the regional bank of ecological niches of landscapes that characterizes their parametric space, and (b) multitude-theoretical, describing the poly-system unit of landscape organization by operations with the ecological niches as descriptive vectors. According to the inclusion measures, three ecological groups of the objects are to be distinguished in poly-system natural-space structures. The results of coupled (informational and set theoretical) modeling of geo(eco)systems with the integral measures of their binary relations are considered as ecosystem stability indices. On the matrices of inclusion relations, the reserve of “homeostaticity” as a measure of potential stability of geo(eco)system to a given factor was calculated, and also the schemes of their transformations have been created based on this measure. It has been created based on these measures: (1) the structural schemes of temporal states of regional and local geo(eco)systems and (2) the methods of distinguishing of their ecological groups.
