Achilles Tendon

This chapter covers all common techniques for the treatment of acute and chronic pathologies of the Achilles tendon. The following techniques are explained in detail: open Achilles tendon suture, minimally invasive Achilles tendon suture, Achilles tendon reconstruction using overturnplasty and VY plasty, flexor hallucis longus tendon augmentation, open necrosectomy for Achilles tendon necrosis, and Haglund exostectomy via a lateral approach and via a central approach with subsequent refixation of the Achilles tendon.
