Osteotomy Around the Knee
摘要
Varus and valgus osteotomies for the treatment of unicompartmental osteoarthritis have experienced a renaissance in the last decade. Axis-correcting osteotomies are now increasingly being used as an additive procedure in cartilage therapies, meniscus transplants and ligament reconstructions. This chapter describes different variants of the high tibial osteotomy (biplanar medial open-wedge HTO [HTO, high tibial osteotomy], lateral close-wedge HTO) and the distal femoral osteotomy (biplanar lateral open-wedge DFO [DFO, osteotomy of the distal femur], biplanar lateral close-wedge DFO) explained step by step.
