Many welding related standards as well as individual organizations quality management manuals and procedures require the organization to record and keep certain welding related documentation. The purpose of this is to communicate information and provide evidence of conformity. With respect to welding qualification, an organization should maintain a record of the results obtained in welding procedure and welder and welding operator performance qualifications (Ref. ASME IX QW-103.2).
