Generative Methods for Planning Public Transportation Systems

摘要

This paper considers a method for generating new bus routes to optimize the transport connectivity of an area and the average travel time, based on the use of a genetic algorithm on the intermodal graph of public transport. This method is intended to identify the potential of the transport system and routes for development by assessing and optimizing the integral accessibility and connectivity of the area. For this purpose, data on city blocks are collected and assembled into a network model. The calculation of public transport travel time between blocks is done using an intermodal graph. The result of the work is a new network of optimal bus routes proposed by the algorithm. The proposed method makes it possible to model on available open data the changes of the public transport system for further development with change assessment.
